the pyramids of Giza

the only statue for king Khufu about 7.5cm

The Great Pyramid of Giza was built by King Khufu (Cheops in Greek) the second pharaoh of the 4th dynasty, who ruled in the first half of the old kingdom period For nearly 23 years.

the pyramid complex

the pyramid complex of king  Khufu was built on Giza Plateau, the complex is Consisting of a valley temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, satellite pyramid, three queens pyramids and the king’s pyramid .

the location of Nazlat Samman

the valley temple had not discovered yet because it is difficult to do excavation work on the site that the archaeologists are Semi-sure In a large percent that the valley temple exist  is under Populated Village called Nazlat Samman .
the causeway, It was exist when the German archaeologist Lipsius  visited Egypt over 100 years ago but now it is disappeared but the archaeologists found only few of stone pieces covered with relief carving, it length 40 m Up between the valley temple and the mortuary temple .

the mortuary temple

the mortuary temple, located on the eastern side of the pyramid , the valley temple is destroyed now but its foundation tells us how it was in the old days .

the satellite pyramid , it was discovered by the great Egyptian archaeologist Dr.Zahi Hawass . it about 20 m and has a passage takes the T shape .

the three pyramids of the queens, for his mother and his wives .

the planing of the pyramid

the pyramid, it was called in the days of Khufu (in hieroglyphs) Akhet Khufu which is mean "the horizon of Khufu" it contains about 2,300,00 blocks of limestone, the original entrance 7m above ground in the eastern side, it leads to passage descending through the pyramid, ends in small chamber which is below ground level  but is wasn't completed!!! is this chamber the king's burial chamber ??? the certain answer for this question is no it may used for other purpose, but  where is the burial chamber???
from the  descending passage there is a cramped tall ascending passage about 1 m wide  and a horizon tall passage leads to chamber lies exactly to the centre axis of the pyramid, this chamber is the real  burial chamber which was misnamed by explorers Whose called it "queen's chamber".
above the burial chamber are five stress relieving chamber and at the very top of those the chambers the roof is a pent roof to distribute the Pressure .
